BECOME AN SONY ALPHA FEMALE CREATOR-IN-RESIDENCE!

A new Sony initiative and creator-in-residence program aims to level the playing field for women in creative fields. At the heart of the program are $25,000 grants and mentoring from Sony Artisans Of Imagery Sara France, Caroline Jensen, MeRa Koh, Cristina Mittermeier and Brooke Shaden.

Magnum Foundation | Photography in Collaboration: Migration and Religion

Magnum Foundation is accepting proposals for Photography in Collaboration: Migration and Religion, an initiative for photographers to expand upon their practice by working with creative partners from other disciplines. They will support up to five projects that further understanding of the politically significant and vastly complex intersections of migration and religion. Selected projects will receive project development support and production grants of up to $25,000.

Magnum Foundation is seeking proposals for projects that are careful interdisciplinary explorations at the intersection of migration and religion, broadly defined, and that explore how forms of social organization transform under the pressures and processes of migration. Applicants are encouraged to explore a range of stories that illuminate this theme and to challenge familiar representational tropes. Proposals are due by July 13, 2018 at 11:59pm EST.

LUCIE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Lucie Foundation is proud to support emerging talent with vision and dynamic ideas that challenge and progress the art form of still photography into work that compels. The support of photography is broad, from Fine Art to Documentary and Photojournalism, to digital and film-based works. The concern is to support emerging photographers producing work that is at once gripping, and original.

The Lucie Foundation offers three cash grants to support the work of emerging photographers – one $2,500 scholarship with an open theme and two $1000 scholarships for photographers working in the fields of Fine Art or Documentary/Photojournalism.

WHO CAN APPLY:

The Lucie Emerging Scholarships are open to emerging photographers 18 years and older, worldwide. For more information and the requests click here. The deadline for submissions has been extended to 30 July 2018.

It's such a great opportunity to win cash prizes and get a solo exhibition at the London Street Photography Festival 2019. All finalists will be exhibited at LSPH 2018.

The prestigious international photographic competition staged by Leica Camera AG enters the next round. From 1 March to 5 April 2018, professional photographers and up-and-coming photographers aged up to 25 will be able to submit entries for the prestigious Leica Oskar Barnack Award online.

The awards for the winners in both categories of the 38th Leica Oskar Barnack Award will be presented in the course of a formal prizegiving ceremony in Berlin. With prizes amounting to a total cash value of 80,000 euros, the ‘Leica Oskar Barnack Award’ is one of the segment’s most prestigious photographic competitions. The winner in the main category will be honoured with a cash prize of 25,000 euros and Leica M-System equipment (a camera and lens) valued at an additional 10,000 euros. The winner of the Newcomer Award will be honoured with a cash prize of 10,000 euros and will also receive a Leica rangefinder camera and lens. In addition to the two main categories, ten further submissions to the competition will each be honoured with prizes of 2,500 euros.

5TH BIENNIAL OF FINE ART & DOCUMENTARY PHOTOGRAPHY, BARCELONA | CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

After the success of the 4th Biennial of Fine Art & Documentary photography in Berlin, the 5th edition will be held in Barcelona in October this year.

The Biennial will take place in several galleries in Barcelona, during the month of October 2018, with a central hub in the Gallery Valid Foto. Final venues will be announced shortly.

Professional & Amateur Photographers worldwide, working in all mediums and styles and are welcome to submit their work. Images can be color or black and white, and there's no restriction regarding the time the image was taken.
